Telling the Xihai Story to Support the Intangible Cultural Heritage Nomination of the Ancient Tea Route—The 2020 China Round-the-Country Self-Driving Rally is About to Arrive in Jiujiang’s Lushan Xihai!

2020-11-16

To tell the Xihai story well, inherit and promote China’s outstanding traditional culture, foster the integration of culture, tourism, sports, and industry, and support the UNESCO World Heritage nomination of the Ancient Tea Route. The 2020 China Round-the-World Self-Driving Rally (ACSC)—the Ten-Thousand-Li Tea Road (China Section) will arrive at Lushan West Sea in Jiujiang on November 17. ! We’d like to specially invite everyone to savor together the unique flavors of the West Sea—boasting “first-class water quality and first-class air”!

The “Millennium Tea Road” is an international trade route that emerged in the 17th century, with tea as its primary commodity. It is an important component of the Belt and Road Initiative and a globally renowned cultural heritage site, possessing the outstanding universal value characteristic of World Cultural Heritage sites. Stretching from Mount Wuyi in Fujian Province in the south, it winds northward through eight provinces (and autonomous regions)—Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Shanxi, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia—as well as Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, ultimately reaching St. Petersburg in Russia. The entire route spans 14,000 kilometers. The Chinese section—from Mount Wuyi to Chibi and then to Erlianhot—covers a total distance of 3,826 kilometers.

This event integrates cultural heritage exploration, exhibitions, forums, music, outdoor sports, athletic competitions, cultural performances, public welfare initiatives, and self-driving tours, fully showcasing the historical charm of cultural heritage, the excitement and romance of self-driving travel, and enabling participants to gain a deep understanding of the historical and cultural significance of the “Ten-Thousand-Li Tea Road.” Participants can freely express themselves, engaging in exploration, competition, and exchange in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. Moreover, the cities and attractions involved will have the perfect opportunity to highlight their unique charms through this event, creating the most culturally rich and aesthetically pleasing self-driving tour route!

As an important component of this gathering competition, the Jiujiang Lushan Xihai Station will fully leverage its unique advantages—“mountains, water, islands, and culture”—and, taking outdoor sports as its theme, host the inaugural “Xihai Mountain Climbing Festival” in the Jiangjunxia Scenic Area of Lushan Xihai. The event will start and end at the entrance and exit of Wugang Valley Gate. The race course is a circular hiking trail, and final rankings will be determined based on the time it takes participants to complete the entire hike. During the competition, there will also be special activities such as agricultural and sideline product exhibitions and tea-ceremony performances.

In addition to attending the event,

Take in the autumn scenery of Jiangjun Gorge.

It has a unique charm ↓

I. Explore Wuwang Valley and Encounter the Sisters Qiao

It is said that during the late Eastern Han Dynasty, the general Sun Ce, known as the “General Who Punishes Rebellion,” and his close friend Zhou Yu were hunting in these mountain woods when they were drawn by the lingering sound of a zither. Following the music, they happened upon Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao, who had come here to visit relatives. From that moment on, the two men met, got to know each other, and fell deeply in love. Thus, Jiangjun Gorge came to be named after them.

Wu Wanggu boasts a landscape dominated by forested canyons, surrounded on three sides by mountains. Along the way, you’ll find streams and cascading waterfalls shaped over billions of years by erosion. With a forest coverage rate as high as 98%, the air here is rich in 150,000 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter—making it a pristine, natural oxygen paradise and truly deserving of the title “a health-and-wellness-oriented ecological retreat for summer escape.”

The winding path leads to a secluded paradise, where streams and waterfalls flow continuously, clear currents rush over rocky rapids, and birds sing while insects hum—a scene that makes one feel as if they’ve stepped into a fairyland beyond the world. As you stroll through Wuwang Valley, you can savor the coolness of the deep mountains along the way while freely soaking up negative oxygen ions, leaving behind all the fatigue from work and the worries of daily life.

II. Cloudy West Sea: A Leisurely Stroll Across the 9D Glass Skybridge

The glass skybridge stretches 398 meters in total, with a maximum height difference of 108 meters. As you walk across the bridge, the scenery seems to flow beneath your feet. The bridge’s most distinctive feature is its 9D audiovisual and light-sensor effects: Just a gentle step—and the glass beneath your feet shatters and spreads out in an incredibly realistic and thrilling display. The vivid, bone-chilling sound of breaking glass—“crack, crack, crack”—resonates right by your ears, making you feel as if you’re about to plunge straight down. The sheer exhilaration is simply beyond imagination...

3. The Shouting Spring—Unleash Your Passion!

As you step down from the glass skybridge, you’ll find yourself at the Shouting Spring. Just shout loudly into the megaphone, and the spring water will leap joyfully upward. If your voice is loud enough, the water jets will shoot straight into the sky, with droplets scattering gracefully all around. Watching the spring water soar high into the heavens thanks to your own shout—doesn’t that give you a sense of accomplishment, as if you’ve somehow “conquered” nature itself?

On sunny days, you can even see water droplets refracting a dazzling rainbow of colors—feeling as if you’ve just reaped a little bit of good fortune for the day. This enchanting and fascinating combination of “screaming spring + rainbow” is simply irresistible—so come on down to Jiangjun Gorge and take it all in!

4. Jungle trekking—climbing to the max!

When parents and children go on a trip together, letting kids dash through the jungle, savoring the thrill of falling and gliding, and experiencing the excitement of climbing and traversing—this not only gives them a physique as strong and agile as a “general,” but also lets them enjoy learning through play.

See the big picture from small clues; a single leaf reveals the coming of autumn.

After finishing viewing Jiangjun Gorge

Let’s take you closer to Lushan Xihai.

5A creates high-quality tourism routes!

When it comes to Lushan West Sea, it’s always surrounded by accolades like “China’s Most Beautiful Lake and Mountain Scenery” and “Poetic and Picturesque West Sea—A Vacation Paradise.” But did you know that this place is also a joyful haven for relieving stress and getting close to nature?

The “internet-famous check-in spot”—Xihai Star—is one of the must-visit attractions.

There are always a few “timid” companions who can’t bring themselves to take the first step at a height of 99 meters above the West Sea.

The high-altitude café is also a superb photo spot, offering breathtaking views of mountains and waters with endless scenic beauty.

After its name was changed, Ruoxi Island has not only enhanced its charm but has also become a paradise of joy for children!

The peacocks in the peacock garden are polite and full of vitality, while the adorable animals in the cute pet paradise bring endless laughter to children.

The beautiful black swan swims freely in the crystal-clear lake water, and the adorable groundhog is gazing at you with a dazed expression.

Squirrels dart back and forth through the spacetime tunnel—lively and nimble, they’re like vibrant notes dancing through the forest. Look quick! There’s also the cutest, cutest little parrot, still charmingly posing on the palm of your hand!

After crossing the “Dragon Bridge,” head to Huaguo Mountain for an up-close encounter with the monkeys.

However, I’d like to give a proper introduction to our new parrot star.

They’re truly masters of all eighteen martial arts! Don’t believe me? Just take a quick look:

Hurry up and get in its car—let’s go for a ride!

Here’s a perfect curtain call—our adorable parrot’s performance is over!

What?! Not had your fill yet? Then take this self-driving rally as an opportunity to head to the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area!
