On the evening of July 13, Chen Jitian, a member of the municipal government’s Party leadership group and Party Secretary of the scenic area, conducted a brief and unobtrusive inspection and supervision overnight to oversee flood control and disaster relief efforts as well as the 5A-level accreditation work across the entire region, ensuring that both flood control and 5A accreditation are pursued simultaneously without compromising either. Li Yuanqing, a member of the scenic area’s Party committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, accompanied him.

Chen Jitian visited the township government of Jin Kou Township, the Shanxia Reservoir in San Shan Village, the Xihai Service Area, and the Huangjindong Reservoir in Zelin Town—the frontline of flood control efforts. He carefully reviewed and examined the flood-control duty logs, asked detailed questions about the implementation of flood-control responsibilities, the stockpiling of emergency rescue supplies, the identification of potential flood-related issues, and the risks of geological disasters. He also expressed gratitude and offered condolences to the cadres and residents who are steadfastly holding their posts on the front lines of flood control, encouraging them to continue upholding their spirit of resilience and perseverance in continuous combat, thereby effectively safeguarding the lives and property of the people.

Chen Jitian emphasized that we are now at a critical and decisive stage in flood prevention and control. We must remain fully committed and on high alert at all times, maintaining a state of constant readiness, strengthening our flood-control duty and vigilance, and solidifying the “discipline-based dam.” We must resolutely enforce and implement our work responsibilities, further identify and sort out potential issues, pinpoint their root causes, and ensure the comprehensive implementation of flood-control measures. We need to conduct scientific analyses of rainfall and flood conditions, coordinate and allocate resources systematically, and make categorized arrangements to comprehensively enhance our overall capacity for flood prevention and control. Moreover, we must meticulously implement preventive measures, stock up on sufficient flood-control supplies, and make thorough preparations across the board to firmly establish a safety baseline.

Afterward, Chen Jitian visited the 5A Creation Office, warmly greeted and expressed his care for the staff who were still working there, and listened to reports on the ongoing work. He said that the 5A creation process is time-sensitive and involves heavy tasks. Everyone across the region must adopt a highly responsible attitude, remain fully prepared, and avoid any slackening. It’s crucial to maintain the regularity of our work, further unify our thinking, strengthen coordination and communication, and build synergies in our efforts. We need to refine our work plans, clearly define key milestones, stay firmly focused on our goals, and promote all tasks comprehensively and efficiently.
