Jinkou Township, Xihai, Lushan: Fully promoting comprehensive environmental improvement to deliver tangible results in supporting the 5A-level scenic area designation.
2020-08-08
To implement the strategic deployment of the Party Committee and Management Committee of the Lushan Xihai Scenic Area in preparing for the 5A-level assessment and acceptance, and to fully create a beautiful scenic area that is “clean, tidy, orderly, and picturesque,” thereby successfully achieving the annual overall goals, Jinkou Township has identified its key areas of weakness and made great efforts—both substantial and persistent—in environmental improvement, thereby enhancing the livability index of the area and contributing effectively to the successful establishment of the scenic zone.
In light of the unique characteristics of environmental improvement in Jinkou Township, we have developed tailored plans based on the specific conditions, appearance, and needs of each village. The township Party committee and government have deeply understood the spirit of the 5A Creation Mobilization Conference, strengthened implementation efforts, and are committed to building every village according to the standards expected of scenic areas and tourist attractions.
Since the beginning of this year, in order to promote the new round of environmental improvement efforts more efficiently and swiftly, we have: first, held a mobilization conference to align thinking, assign responsibilities, establish mechanisms, and launch a broad-based mobilization effort.
Second, the village committees and urban management teams conducted door-to-door inspections in all five villages, one township, and one scenic area within the township, identifying a total of 540 sanitation and environmental issues. They established a ledger system for tracking and closing these issues, and will verify the effectiveness of their efforts by comparing photos taken before and after the remediation work. Additionally, they carried out clearing operations on overgrown land and slopes along the high-speed access road, Xingfu Avenue, and Xihai Avenue within the 3.5-square-kilometer township area. By year-end, they plan to plant fruit trees that offer both economic value and aesthetic appeal.
Third, we implement a “daily ranking and weekly scheduling” system. Based on work progress requirements, we showcase work achievements, transmit work pressure, and foster a competitive atmosphere in which everyone strives to outperform one another.
Jinkou Township clearly states that “focusing on environmental improvement is focusing on development, and using environmental enhancement to drive Jinkou’s rise,” thereby implementing a “one village, one plan” approach and building a “specialty eco-tourism town” and a “charming Jinkou.”
