Secretary Bin Yang conducted a research visit to Lushan West Sea, further boosting morale and raising expectations for the creation of a 5A-level scenic area.

2020-09-28

On September 28, Lin Binyang, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, visited the Lushan Xihai Scenic Area for a research trip. He emphasized that, given the tight timeline and heavy tasks ahead in the current effort to create a national 5A-level scenic area, we must thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization, put into practice the development philosophy that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” adhere to ecological priority and green development, remain firmly committed to our goals, carefully plan, meticulously carry out construction, accelerate progress, adopt high-standard operation and management practices, continuously enrich tourism offerings, enhance tourism quality, and ensure the successful completion of this endeavor.

In autumn, the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area boasts towering mountains, shimmering blue waters, and breathtaking beauty. Lin Binyang took a boat to Yunju Island to inspect the island’s renovation and upgrade project aimed at achieving 5A status. As he climbed the steps, he saw bustling activity at various construction sites: workers were hurrying to build boardwalks, pave roads, plant flowers, and set up trees. The outlines of distinctive, uniquely shaped tourist islands were beginning to take shape, vividly coming to life before his eyes. Walking and observing along the way, Lin Binyang gained firsthand insights into the planning, checked on the progress, pinpointed specific issues on-site, and urged that these be promptly addressed. Lin Binyang emphasized that everything must be people-oriented, placing tourists at the center of all efforts. He called for continuous optimization and refinement of the planning and design, meticulous execution of construction, and constant improvement of quality. Furthermore, he stressed the need to enrich the scenic area with more engaging and participatory experiences, creating a complete tourism ecosystem encompassing “food, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.” Buildings should be imbued with cultural significance, each attraction developed with its own unique character, thus promoting the deep integration and synergistic development of culture and tourism. At the same time, it is essential to diversify tree species, broaden views, optimize the environment, enhance services, pay close attention to details, and elevate the overall tourist experience, ensuring visitors are captivated and reluctant to leave.

On the large screen of the smart scenic area platform, important information such as ticketing statistics, visitor flow, hydrological data, and real-time monitoring flashes continuously, making all key information about the scenic area instantly clear at a glance. Lin Binyang pointed out that we must make good use of the smart platform, fully leverage its potential, and promote the digitalization and intelligent development of tourism.

At the office for the establishment of the Lushan West Sea National 5A Scenic Area, Lin Binyang presided over a symposium to hear a report on the progress of the Lushan West Sea development efforts and gain an understanding of the tourism project planning as well as the overall status of the creation work. Lin Binyang gave full recognition to the efforts being made to develop the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area. He pointed out that since the launch of the national 5A scenic area initiative, the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area has been working diligently and effectively, setting clear goals, meticulously scheduling tasks in reverse order, and employing visual management tools. The area has carried out extensive work and achieved remarkable results.

Lin Binyang emphasized that Lushan West Sea boasts unique ecological advantages. The provincial Party committee, provincial government, municipal Party committee, and municipal government all attach great importance to and fully support the efforts to develop the area into a 5A-level scenic spot. We must treat the 5A-level designation as the top priority for this year’s work, remain steadfast in our goal, and wholeheartedly pursue its realization. We should strictly adhere to the national standards and specifications for 5A-level tourist attractions, promptly conduct self-assessments and make necessary improvements, and make thorough preparations by strengthening our strengths and addressing our weaknesses. We need to further enhance the scenic area from multiple aspects—including hardware facilities, visitor services, and tourism management—to ensure a successful outcome. We must integrate resources, leverage our advantages, and create distinctive lake-and-island tour routes that highlight excellence, refinement, and meticulous attention to detail, continuously elevating the quality of tourism offerings. We should accelerate the construction of tourism projects, intensify efforts to attract investment, and develop blockbuster projects as well as high-end health-care, homestay, and leisure-resort initiatives, thereby enriching the range of business formats within the scenic area, enhancing its appeal, and promoting high-quality, integrated tourism development across Lushan West Sea. Lin Binyang also stressed that with the upcoming National Day holiday and Mid-Autumn Festival, the scenic area must coordinate and advance both routine epidemic prevention and control measures and tourism development. We must rigorously implement safety production requirements in the tourism, transportation, and food sectors to ensure that the entire scenic area remains safe, orderly, prosperous, and stable throughout the holiday period.
