Due to weather conditions, the competition on October 18 will be an indoor charity evaluation, while the outdoor kite-flying contest will be held on the 19th. At the competition venue, kites of all kinds soared into the sky simultaneously—among them were traditional kites with unique styles and rich cultural heritage, as well as uniquely shaped kites that were strikingly realistic and lifelike. “At first, I didn’t know how to do it at all—I just started learning slowly. Now not only can I make kites myself, but I’ve even begun to innovate,” Tang Yonghong, an athlete from the Nanchang City team, told reporters. Suffering from cervical spondylosis, he began flying kites after learning that kite flying could be beneficial for his neck.
