As the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival approach, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism reminds tourists that while enjoying the beautiful scenery during their holiday travels, they should always keep safety in mind.

1. Make thorough preparations before your trip and book your travel at off-peak times.

Pay attention to travel advisories issued by departments such as tourism, public security, transportation, and meteorology. Exercise caution when traveling to destinations with unfavorable transportation or weather conditions. Plan your itinerary carefully and consider traveling during off-peak hours.

Learn in advance about and check the epidemic prevention measures, opening hours, ticket reservation requirements, and visitor capacity limits at tourist attractions, and “don’t travel without a reservation.”

Before setting off on a self-driving trip, carefully inspect the condition of your vehicle and make sure that all relevant documents and insurance policies are complete and valid. Also, be sure to obey traffic regulations.

Master essential safety knowledge and first-aid basics, prepare necessary common medications, and it is recommended to purchase travel accident insurance.

II. Choose reputable companies and travel scientifically and rationally.

Choose travel agencies, hotels and restaurants, amusement parks, and transportation vehicles that have the necessary operating licenses.

When joining a tour group, sign a formal contract with the travel agency and request an invoice and itinerary. Clearly specify the tour itinerary and any optional paid activities, and keep your shopping receipts.

Be vigilant against tourism activities organized through channels such as WeChat, QQ groups, and forums, and guard against scams that lure tourists with promises of “free tours” or “low-priced tours.”

You can follow the WeChat official account “National Tourism Service Supervision” to check the qualifications of travel agencies.

During your trip, choose restaurants with proper operating licenses for meals, and avoid purchasing or consuming food that is spoiled, expired, or of unknown origin.

When taking a taxi or ride-hailing service, be extra vigilant and refuse to ride in unlicensed or "black" taxis.

III. Prioritize epidemic prevention and control, and take good personal protective measures.

During your trip, closely monitor the epidemic risk alerts issued by local authorities. Prepare in advance documents such as your “health code” and ID card, and voluntarily comply with preventive measures including temperature checks and health code verification.

Prioritize prevention and control, avoid complacency, and take good personal protective measures: wear masks, wash your hands frequently, measure your temperature, disinfect regularly, maintain social distance, ensure frequent ventilation, and avoid crowds and large gatherings.

When taking public transportation or entering parks and museums, please line up in an orderly manner and consciously maintain a safe distance from other visitors.

Use communal chopsticks and spoons when dining, and maintain a safe social distance.

If you experience symptoms such as fever, dry cough, or fatigue, you should report them promptly and seek medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility.

4. Enhance awareness of prevention and ensure travel safety.

When riding a tour bus, fasten your seatbelt, don't stick your head, hands, or feet out of the window, and don't carry any prohibited items.

When driving yourself on a road trip, avoid driving while fatigued or under the influence of alcohol. Keep your speed in check and be mindful of yielding to others.

Do not enter undeveloped areas such as canyons, lakes, reservoirs, and uninhabited islands that are not open to the public for recreational activities.

When visiting popular internet-famous attractions, be sure to abide by public order, good customs, and applicable laws and regulations. Carefully assess your surroundings at all times, avoid acting impulsively, and always prioritize safety. When engaging in outdoor tourism, pay close attention to fire prevention and disaster avoidance—refrain from smoking, barbecuing, or using open flames in areas where flammable materials such as lush vegetation or accumulated leaves are abundant, or in places marked with fire-prevention warnings.

When checking into hotels and guesthouses, familiarize yourself with the fire escape routes and avoid behaviors such as smoking while lying on sofas or beds.

Exercise caution when participating in water-based activities such as rafting. When engaging in high-risk activities like高空 (high-altitude),高速 (high-speed), and diving, take into account your own health condition, proceed within your capabilities, and always carry out these activities under the guidance of professionals. Avoid any actions that could endanger your own safety or the safety of others.
