On August 19, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Culinary and Cultural Creative Park in Zelin Old Town, Xishan Lake, Lushan, was held. Chen Jitian, a member of the municipal government’s Party group and Party Secretary of the scenic area; Zheng Qinghua, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of the Management Committee; and Zou Xiufeng, Deputy Party Secretary, attended the ceremony.

As a major project within the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area, the Zhelin Old Town Culinary and Cultural Creative Park leverages the rich ecological foundation and profound cultural heritage of Zhelin Old Town. From the perspective of Lushan West Sea’s development goal—to establish itself as a national 5A-level scenic area and build a world-class tourism and vacation destination—it aims to create a distinctive cultural and tourism town that offers an immersive “ecological leisure and wellness” experience rooted in local folk culture.

Since the beginning of this year, faced with multiple challenges including the pandemic and flooding, the Party Committee and Management Committee of Lushan Xihai Scenic Area have consistently adhered to the integrated approach of epidemic prevention, flood control, and socio-economic development. Grounded in the actual conditions of the scenic area and overcoming numerous difficulties, they have made every effort to accelerate the “Project Construction Acceleration Year” initiative and mobilized the entire region’s resources to build the Zhelin Old Town Food & Cultural Creativity Park.

It is reported that upon completion, the Zhelin Old Town Food and Cultural Creative Park will revive the former prosperity of Zhelin Old Town, restore its former glory, enrich the tourism offerings in the scenic area, enhance the quality of tourism services, and provide strong impetus for the scenic area to accelerate its efforts toward “creating a national 5A-level scenic area and building a world-class tourism and vacation destination.”
