On August 14, Xie Lai Fa, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, conducted an in-depth field investigation into the efforts to develop the Lushan West Sea into a 5A-level tourist attraction, and convened a meeting to advance the development of the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area into a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The primary task of the meeting was to comprehensively review the progress of the work against the established acceptance criteria, further identify existing gaps, address shortcomings, and lay a solid foundation for submitting the application for acceptance by the end of September and passing the nation’s rigorous assessment by year-end.

Xie Lai Fa pointed out that it is imperative to deepen and enhance our understanding and awareness. The creation of the Lushan Xihai 5A scenic area is a crucial, high-stakes upgrade examination—a test where success is not just expected but absolutely essential. If we fail to achieve this goal, it would represent a grave betrayal of the trust placed in us by our superiors, a reckless missed opportunity for development, and a self-imposed abandonment of our resource advantages. Now that we’ve entered the critical final sprint phase, we must place utmost importance—reiterate, reiterate, and reiterate—on our thinking and awareness; deepen, deepen, and deepen again; elevate, elevate, and elevate once more. Let’s approach this with our best mindset, make the most thorough preparations, exert our utmost efforts, and strive for the optimal outcome.

Xie Lai Fa pointed out that we must squarely address and close any existing shortcomings. The effort to develop the Lushan West Sea into a 5A-level scenic area is like an open-book exam with a “standard answer”—we must strictly align ourselves with the detailed assessment criteria, meticulously sorting through each item and implementing every requirement one by one. We need to focus on rectifying the issues identified in the problem list: taking back the tasks based on expert feedback and ensuring that all problems are thoroughly addressed. We must make concerted efforts to shore up weaknesses in both hardware and software—investing greater resources and putting in more hard work on hardware aspects such as tourism facilities, communication infrastructure, and safety equipment, as well as on software aspects including bus routes, environmental management, and tourism consumption—so that we can secure every single point we’re entitled to and avoid losing even half a point where we shouldn’t.

Xie Lai Fa emphasized that all tasks must be thoroughly implemented and put into practice. The creation of the Lushan Xihai Scenic Area as a national 5A-level scenic spot is a “hard task” enshrined in the municipal government’s work report, and it is also a “major project” that requires the joint efforts of everyone. We must forge a shared consensus and work together, ensuring that every step is effectively carried out and implemented. We need to strengthen organizational leadership, enhance close communication and collaboration, innovate working methods, and muster the confidence to fight with determination and the spirit of charging forward with full vigor. We must approach every aspect of the creation process with meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment, leaving no room for even the slightest oversight, thus guaranteeing the successful completion of the Lushan Xihai 5A-level scenic area designation.
Vice Mayors Peng Min and Li Xiaoping, and Municipal Government Secretary-General Bao Chenggeng attended the meeting. Chen Jitian, a member of the Municipal Government Party Committee and Party Secretary of the Scenic Area, and Zheng Qinghua, Deputy Party Secretary of the Scenic Area and Director of the Management Committee, accompanied the delegation on the inspection tour.
