Lushan West Sea: Cool and Refreshing Rafting Welcomes Guests

2020-08-06

On August 2, as the intense heat of summer set in, the Xihai Rafting activity in Jiangjunxia Scenic Area became a perfect getaway for tourists seeking relief from the sweltering temperatures. On that single day alone, the area welcomed nearly a thousand visitors, marking the peak of the summer tourism season.

The Xihai Rafting tour spans a total distance of 5.1 kilometers with a significant elevation drop of 168 meters. Here, visitors can enjoy three distinct rafting experiences: the warm and leisurely “Leisurely Float,” the breathtakingly beautiful and fantastical “Fantasy Float,” and the thrilling and adventurous “Hero’s Float.” After scanning the QR code and undergoing temperature checks, you’ll head to the rafting launch point, put on your life jacket, and set off from the starting point. Aboard a kayak, you’ll glide swiftly through the canyon, navigating rapids, bizarre rock formations, flower-lined corridors, and ancient tree hollows—experiencing the sheer joy of being immersed in water all the way until you reach the finish line, screaming with excitement every step of the way.

Tourist Mr. Zhang said, “That tree hollow—especially that tree hollow—was really thrilling, and we had a lot of fun playing there. Next time, I’d like to bring my friends along and share this experience with them.”

Tourist Ms. Liu exclaimed, “This rafting trip was really fun and thrilling—especially the ‘Warrior Rafting’ was an absolutely exhilarating experience! We’ll definitely come back next time.”

It is understood that the Wuwang Valley scenic spot within the Jiangjunxia Scenic Area is also a rare and excellent retreat for escaping the summer heat. The area boasts a pleasant climate, abundant water resources, and a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Wild animals such as wild boars and serows frequently roam through the mountain streams and canyons, making it a natural oxygen bar. In ancient times, literati praised this place, describing it as “spring like silk, summer like the sea, autumn like a painting, and winter like jade.”
