On the afternoon of January 27, Li Xiaoping, Vice Mayor of the Municipal Government, visited Lushan Xihai to extend New Year greetings and condolences and to conduct a research visit on the progress of the Zhelin Old Town project. Chen Jitian, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Municipal Government and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Scenic Area, and Zou Xiufeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee, accompanied him.

Li Xiaoping visited, one after another, the homes of registered impoverished households and preferential treatment recipients in Zhelin Town, Lushan West Sea, as well as the Zhelin Town Nursing Home for the Elderly. He took a close look at the living conditions of these impoverished households and elderly residents, presented them with condolence money and gifts, and extended his early New Year greetings and heartfelt blessings to them.

The Wang Liqiang family, a poverty-stricken household from Yitang Group in Yijiahe Village, consists of seven members: one son and two daughters, all of whom they are responsible for supporting along with their elderly parents. Li Xiaoping showed great concern, asking about the family’s situation and living conditions. He learned that all of Wang Liqiang’s children are currently in school, and his eldest daughter suffers from systemic lupus erythematosus. The family has already spent hundreds of thousands of yuan on medical expenses, and now she needs to travel to a hospital in Nanchang every month for checkups and takes medication regularly year-round. Li Xiaoping encouraged Wang Liqiang to remain confident, work hard, and do his utmost to raise his children to become successful individuals. He assured him that, with the care and support of the Party and the government, their life would surely get better and better.

In Lianfeng Community, veteran Wang Chengfu and his wife, along with their youngest son, are farming at home and caring for their primary-school-aged grandchildren. Their eldest son and daughter-in-law work outside the home, but due to a failed business venture, the family is heavily in debt. Li Xiaoping visited this honored family and sat down with them, sharing heartfelt conversations and chatting about everyday life. He learned that Wang Chengfu’s youngest son suffers from schizophrenia and requires long-term medication and hospital treatment; the family’s main source of income comes from farming and odd jobs. Li Xiaoping expressed gratitude for Wang Chengfu’s contributions to the country and the people, and encouraged him to take good care of his health, face life with optimism, and, drawing on the tenacity and resilience he cultivated as a soldier, actively take steps to overcome his current difficulties.

The Jiaolín Town Nursing Home was completed in 1997 and relocated entirely to its current site in 2000. Currently, 14 elderly residents under the Five-Guarantees system live permanently at the home. Li Xiaoping carefully inspected their living conditions and took detailed notes on their difficulties and needs. He instructed the relevant officials to always keep the safety, well-being, and comfort of these Five-Guarantees elderly residents at heart, approaching their work with genuine care and a strong sense of responsibility. He urged them to effectively ensure these elderly residents’ basic living needs are met, enabling them to feel the warmth of the Party and the government’s heartfelt concern, and guaranteeing that those facing hardship will spend a warm, joyful, and peaceful Spring Festival.

The topping-out of all main buildings in the Zhelin Old Town Food & Cultural Creativity Park project has been completed. Li Xiaoping and his delegation visited the construction site to inspect the progress on the ground and listened to a briefing on the project’s status. Li Xiaoping pointed out that it is essential to focus on the needs of the public, create the optimal business mix, take proactive measures, seize favorable weather conditions, increase construction manpower, accelerate the pace of construction, and strengthen safety production efforts—ensuring timely completion and effectively driving high-quality development of Lushan Xihai through highly efficient projects.
