III. Competition Events

(1) Team weight competition for mixed-species fishing using hand rods no longer than 6.3 meters or float rods no longer than 1.5 meters.

(2) Individual Single-End Heavyweight Competition

(3) Effective Fish Species: Crucian carp, common carp, grass carp, silver carp, bream, catfish, red-yellow-green-tailed fish, Chinese bigeye bream, blunt snout bream, mandarin fish, mudskipper, yellow catfish, mandarin fish, black carp, shad, white barbel, and flower-white silver carp. The body length of effective fish must be greater than or equal to 10 centimeters. Fish body length is measured from the outer edge of the fish’s mouth (with the mouth closed) to the tip of the fish’s tail.

IV. Competition Rules and Scoring Methods

(1) The competition is divided into four scoring zones. By drawing lots, each team sends two members to compete in one event within the same zone. The competition lasts 15 hours—from the afternoon start until the end of the following morning. Each team may prepare multiple fishing rods as backups, but no more than two rods and rigging sets may be used simultaneously in the water for fishing.

(2) Teams will be ranked within their respective zones based on the total weight of the five largest fish caught by each team. In the event of a tie in the total weight of the five largest fish, the heaviest single fish will be compared. If the weights of the largest individual fish are also identical, the ranking will be determined by drawing lots.

(3) During the competition, catch results will be recorded in real time using immediate weighing. The 15-hour competition period is divided into three measurement periods, each lasting five hours. Once each team has caught five fish, any additional catches must be compared against the fish already kept in their catch containers; only the larger fish may be retained, while smaller ones must be released. Each team’s catch container may hold no more than eight fish in total.

(4) The first-place teams from the four divisions will be ranked 1st to 4th in the overall standings based on the total weight of their five catch specimens. The second-place teams from the four divisions will be ranked 5th to 8th in the overall standings based on the total weight of their five catch specimens. And so on, with the top sixteen teams receiving awards.

(5) Athletes will be ranked according to the maximum weight of a single fish they catch, and the top six athletes with the heaviest single fish will receive awards.

(6) Sports teams with female anglers participating (each team needs only one female angler) are eligible to compete for the “Jin Guo Award.” The “Jin Guo Award” will be presented to the top three teams based on their overall results.

(7) In addition to being allowed to equip themselves with headlamps, each team member may only use luminous floats and luminous rod rigs when night fishing with hand rods. For raft fishing at night, only single-lamp illuminated rod tips specifically designed for raft fishing are permitted, to prevent light interference among competitors.

(8) Participants are required to bring their own bait for this competition. The bait must meet the following basic requirements: 1. The use of toxic or harmful substances and additives is strictly prohibited.

2. The use of artificial lures is strictly prohibited. If using live or natural baits, only earthworms, bloodworms, silkworm pupae, mealworms, and river shrimp are permitted.

3. A total limit is imposed on the amount of bait used; each team’s total bait weight for the entire match must be kept within 15 kilograms.

4. You can use a raft fishing baiting device (on the water) or hand-cast bait to attract fish.

(9) The organizer of this competition (Yaochiwan Mountain Villa) will provide umbrellas for the team members to use. During the competition, team members may set up tents within the areas designated by the competition rules. Those using raft fishing rain shelters must not block the rear side in a way that obstructs the judges’ inspections.

(10) The use of electronic aids such as fish finders and electronic alarms is prohibited.

(11) During the competition, the event organizer will provide life jackets uniformly, and all participating team members must wear them throughout the entire event.
