May Day Travel: Flow Restrictions and Controlled Management for Safe and Orderly Tourism
2020-05-05
During the May Day holiday, the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area is limiting daily visitor numbers to 7,800, equivalent to 30% of its peak instantaneous capacity. On the first day of the holiday, no overcrowding occurred, and the scenic area remained safe and well-organized.
At the entrance of the Sima and Jin Kou Visitor Centers, police officers and security personnel are guiding visitors to ensure their safety. They are also working together with scenic area staff to check the “health codes” of visitors lining up, reminding them to wear masks properly, undergo temperature checks, maintain social distancing, and avoid gathering in crowds.
Tourist Mr. Li told the reporter: “Scanning the code and wearing masks—both measures are quite effective in preventing the epidemic. Every place, every checkpoint, provides reminders. Along the way, the environment is also pretty good; the water quality is relatively clear, and you can see the fish quite clearly. The mountains, the water, the island—all have remarkably fresh air. The flowers are in full bloom, and the fragrance of the blue flowers is simply delightful.”
Led by the tour guide, visitors entered the scenic area to enjoy lake tours and sightseeing, climb the tower for breathtaking views, and admire “China’s most beautiful lakeside scenery.” They captured these wonderful moments with cameras and smartphones. Meanwhile, the unique combination of water-based recreational activities—plus the big-pot fish feast and starry-night tent experience—left visitors thoroughly delighted and made their trip well worth it. Tourist Zhang Zhiyou said, “I especially enjoyed riding the speedboat here, as well as the bamboo raft, the pedal-powered boat, and the duck-shaped boat—all of them were really fun! I’d love to come back again next time just to ride the speedboat.”
