Chen Jitian, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Jiujiang Municipal Government and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area, chaired a coordination meeting for the 5A-level tourism development initiative. On October 12, Chen Jitian, a member of the municipal government’s Party leadership group and Party Secretary of the Scenic Area, presided over a coordination meeting on the 5A-level tourism development initiative for Lushan Xihai, held at the Creation Office. The meeting conveyed and studied the guiding principles issued by Lin Binyang, Secretary of the Jiujiang Municipal Party Committee, during his inspection of the scenic area’s 5A-level creation efforts, and heard reports on the progress of the creation work. Chen Jitian pointed out that it is essential to thoroughly implement Secretary Lin Binyang’s guiding principles, consistently integrating the 5A-level creation philosophy and approach throughout the entire process. We must ensure that all scenic area projects become high-quality, exemplary undertakings characterized by integrity and excellence, and strive wholeheartedly to create a superior tourism environment and establish the scenic area as a first-class tourist destination. Chen Jitian emphasized five key requirements: First, we must continuously identify problems and strengthen rectification efforts. We should adopt a problem-oriented approach, pursuing meticulous design and refined improvements. At the same time, we need to rationally arrange various business formats and flexibly “add color, add flowers, add fruit, and add fragrance.” Second, we must firmly focus on our goals and advance with high standards. We should further refine our work objectives and milestones, concentrating on tourism sectors such as water-based tour routes, lighting enhancements, and performing arts, and accelerate their implementation. Third, we must play up the 5A-level creation card and actively seek support. We should proactively engage in communication and coordination, and vigorously lobby higher authorities to increase support for the scenic area in terms of policies, projects, and funding. Fourth, we must effectively manage project scheduling and ensure orderly progress. Building on the district-wide overall scheduling framework, we should deepen and refine specialized and segmented scheduling, benchmark against existing gaps, and implement each project scientifically and systematically according to established procedures and timelines. Fifth, we must continuously strengthen management and maintain regularity. We should organically integrate environmental improvement with high-quality development, routinely carry out various environmental improvement initiatives, make every effort to enhance tourism service quality, and win positive feedback from visitors.

Jiang Biao, Party Secretary and Director of the Jiujiang Municipal Transportation Bureau, led a research team to Lushan Xihai to conduct a study and provide support for Lushan Xihai’s efforts to achieve 5A status. On October 14, Jiang Biao, Party Secretary and Director of the Municipal Transportation Bureau, led a research team to Lushan Xihai to conduct a survey on the planning and construction of the scenic area’s transportation and road network. The team also gained an in-depth understanding of the progress being made in Lushan Xihai’s efforts to become a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Jiang Biao pointed out that the planning of Lushan Xihai’s transportation network should seize the opportunities presented by the 14th Five-Year Plan, integrating it with the overall planning of the scenic area and tourism development plans. It should be grounded in reality, take a long-term perspective, leave sufficient corridor space, connect different industries, prioritize tasks according to urgency, and accelerate the integrated development of “transportation plus tourism.” Furthermore, it is essential to break free from conventional thinking, ensure the stability of funding sources for highway construction, explore diversified financing channels, clarify work procedures and relevant policies and regulations, and carry out all necessary preparatory work. The Municipal Transportation Bureau will actively report to the provincial authorities, coordinate with the two counties and relevant units, speed up the reform of Lushan Xihai’s transportation system, and create a favorable environment for Lushan Xihai’s bid to become a 5A-level tourist attraction.

The sports tourism industry in the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area is undergoing deep integration and development, fully supporting the efforts to achieve 5A-level accreditation. The Lushan West Sea Scenic Area, closely aligned with the theme of healthy sports and leisure, actively hosts a series of high-impact, premium sporting events, continuously meeting the diverse and varied needs of the public for sports and tourism. This fosters the deep integration and development of the sports-tourism industry and wholeheartedly supports the scenic area’s efforts to become a national 5A-level tourist attraction. On October 14 and 18, the 8th Jiujiang Senior Citizens’ Fitness Games Chess Tournament and the 6th Jiangxi Provincial Mass Fitness Games Kite-Flying Competition were successfully held in Lushan West Sea, respectively. On October 31 and November 14, the 2020 Chinese Fishing Championship—Lushan West Sea Station and the 2020 Poyang Lake Cycling Elite Race—Jiujiang Lushan West Sea Station will soon take place in Lushan West Sea. The range of sports and tourism events in the scenic area continues to expand, further enhancing the brand recognition of “Sports West Sea.”

【Work Progress】

(1) Sightseeing

1. The island renovation project continues to focus on refining details and enhancing aesthetics, while accelerating the progress of ancillary projects. At Yunju Island, the waiting pavilion at the pier has been installed, and the structural columns of Xihai Pavilion have been completed. At Nüshen Island, the umbrella-shaped framework for the viewing platform has been welded, and the roof structure of the Nüshen Restaurant has been welded as well. At Ruoxi Island, safety walkways have been erected in the pet-friendly park, and waterproofing work has been carried out on the roof tiles of Ruoxi Building. At Mingzhu Island, railings have been welded for the Water Pastoral area, new rebar has been tied for the roof of the newly constructed corridor in Mingzhu Square, and interior decoration is underway at the Mingzhu Restaurant.

2. The portable audio guide devices for the scenic area have been fully debugged and are now available for tourists to select and use.

3. The island signage has been fully installed.

(2) Tourism Safety

1. Conducted safety inspections of 24 retail outlets for fireworks and firecrackers in the scenic area, provided instruction on fireworks and firecracker safety management, and required each operator to implement fire and explosion prevention measures at their retail locations, ensuring a safe and orderly business environment.

2. Conduct inspections of fire-fighting equipment on scenic islands, standardize the placement of fire-fighting gear, implement regular inspection procedures, and promptly update or replace outdated or expired equipment.

(3) Tourism Shopping

1. All 33 aging wall-mounted lightbox advertisements along Sima Wharf Commercial Street have been completely replaced.

(4) Integrated Management

1. Conduct regular inspections of the quality of scenic area services and management work, compile a list of over 100 corrective actions, and urge timely completion of these corrections within specified deadlines.

2. The short video “Lushan West Sea Main Scenic Area” won the first prize in the Scenic Area Category at the “Impression • Jiangxi” Short Video Creative Show, jointly organized by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Jiangxi Provincial Internet Information Office.
