Jiujiang e-Media News (Reported by Chu Yi, Journalist of Jiujiang Media Convergence; Photo by Yang Qing) On September 28, Lin Binyang, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, visited the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area for an inspection and research trip. He emphasized that... Currently, the task of creating a national 5A-level scenic area is both time-sensitive and highly demanding. We must deeply study and implement Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization, put into practice the development philosophy that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” adhere to ecological priority and green development, remain steadfast in our goals, carefully plan, meticulously construct, and accelerate progress. We should also pursue high-standard operation and management, continuously enrich tourism offerings, enhance tourism quality, and ensure the successful completion of this endeavor.

In autumn, the Xihai Scenic Area of Lushan boasts towering mountains, shimmering emerald waters, and breathtaking beauty. Lin Binyang took a boat to Yunju Island to inspect the island’s renovation and upgrade project aimed at achieving 5A status. As he climbed the steps, he saw bustling activity at various construction sites: workers were hurrying to build boardwalks, pave roads with stones, plant flowers, and set up trees. The outlines of distinctive, uniquely shaped tourist islands were beginning to take shape, vividly coming to life before his eyes. Walking and observing along the way, Lin Binyang gained firsthand insights into the planning, closely monitored the progress, pinpointed specific issues on-site, and urged that these be promptly addressed. Lin Binyang emphasized that everything must be people-oriented, placing tourists at the center of all efforts. He called for continuous optimization and refinement of the planning and design, meticulous execution of construction, and constant improvement in quality. Furthermore, he stressed the need to enrich the scenic area with more engaging and participatory experiences, creating a complete tourism ecosystem encompassing “food, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.” Buildings should be imbued with cultural significance, each attraction developed with its own unique character, thus fostering deep integration and synergy between culture and tourism. At the same time, it is essential to diversify tree species, broaden views, enhance the environment, and improve services—all while paying close attention to details—to elevate the overall tourist experience and ensure visitors are captivated and eager to return again and again.

On the large screen of the smart scenic-area platform, important information such as ticketing statistics, visitor flow, hydrological data, and real-time monitoring flashes continuously, making all key information about the scenic area instantly clear at a glance. Lin Binyang pointed out that we must make good use of the smart platform, fully leverage its potential, and promote the digitalization and intelligent development of tourism.

Lin Binyang expressed full recognition of the work being done to establish the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area. He pointed out that since the launch of the national 5A scenic area designation effort, the Lushan West Sea Scenic Area has been diligent and pragmatic, setting clear goals, working backward from deadlines, and employing visual management tools. Lin Binyang emphasized that Lushan Xihai boasts unique ecological resource advantages, and the provincial Party committee, provincial government, municipal Party committee, and municipal government all attach great importance to and fully support the efforts to develop it into a 5A-level scenic area. We must treat the 5A-level development initiative as the top priority for this year’s work, remain firmly committed to our goals, and pursue the creation process with unwavering determination. We should strictly adhere to the national standards and specifications for 5A-level tourist attractions, promptly conduct self-assessments and make necessary improvements, and make thorough preparations by strengthening our strengths and addressing our weaknesses. We need to further enhance the scenic area in multiple aspects—including hardware facilities, visitor services, and tourism management—ensuring that our efforts to achieve 5A certification are successful on the first attempt. We must integrate resources, leverage our advantages, and create distinctive lake-and-island tour routes that highlight excellence, refinement, and meticulous attention to detail, continuously elevating the quality of tourism offerings. We should accelerate the construction of tourism projects, intensify efforts to attract investment, and develop blockbuster projects as well as high-end health-care, homestay, and leisure-resort initiatives, thereby enriching the range of business formats within the scenic area, enhancing its appeal, and promoting the high-quality, comprehensive development of Lushan Xihai’s tourism industry.

Lin Binyang emphasized that with the upcoming National Day holiday and the Mid-Autumn Festival, scenic areas must coordinate and promote both routine epidemic prevention and control and tourism development. They must fully and rigorously implement safety production requirements in the tourism, transportation, and food sectors to ensure that the entire scenic area remains safe, orderly, prosperous, and stable throughout the holiday period.
