Code of Civilized Tourism for the Xihai Scenic Area of Mount Lu

To protect the natural ecological environment and cultural landscape resources of the Lushan Xihai Scenic Area, to foster a safe, civilized, orderly, and harmonious tourism environment, to showcase the unique charm of Lushan Xihai, and to promote the sustainable development of the tourism industry, this Code of Conduct is hereby formulated and all visitors are urged to abide by it:

I. Cherish the ecological environment and safeguard our green mountains and clear waters.

Do not damage any plants or trees within the scenic area; do not climb or break branches and leaves; do not pick fruits; and do not trample on the lawn.

Do not capture, hunt, or disturb wild animals, and do not purchase or consume protected species of flora and fauna or their products.

Maintain water body cleanliness by refraining from dumping waste or discharging sewage into lakes, streams, and other bodies of water.

Do not spit on the ground, and do not litter cigarette butts, paper scraps, fruit peels, packaging bags, or other waste; consciously sort and dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations.

II. Protect the public environment and take good care of public facilities

Do not write, carve, or paste anything on cultural relics, historical sites, public facilities, trees, or rocks.

Do not climb on or touch cultural relics and historical sites, nor move or damage protective signs and facilities.

Please abide by the relevant regulations governing religious sites within the scenic area, maintain silence, and respect religious beliefs and customs.

III. Observe Public Order and Ensure Tourist Safety

Please queue up voluntarily to purchase tickets, have your tickets checked, and board transportation, and follow the guidance of scenic area staff.

Do not enter unopen areas or hazardous zones, and do not smoke or use open flames in no-smoking areas.

Observe safety regulations for boat rides, sightseeing tours, and other facilities, and wear life jackets and other protective gear as required.

Do not crowd or create a ruckus, do not chase or roughhouse, and proactively give way to the elderly, children, and those with mobility impairments.

IV. Emphasize Etiquette and Standards to Showcase Civilized Conduct

Dress neatly and appropriately, speak politely, treat others with courtesy, and foster mutual assistance and camaraderie.

Please remain quiet and refrain from speaking loudly or playing audio from electronic devices in public areas.

Comply with the management regulations of accommodations, dining facilities, and other venues; conserve water and electricity; take only what you need when collecting meals; and actively participate in the “Clean Plate Campaign.”

Respect local customs and cultural traditions, and live in harmony with the local residents.

V. Upholding Market Order and Promoting Rational and Lawful Consumption

Operate and set up stalls within designated areas; refrain from following customers to solicit sales or engaging in coercive buying and selling.

Consciously resist unlicensed taxis and unofficial tour guides, and choose reputable travel agencies and services.

Make rational choices when shopping and spending, price according to quality, and settle accounts clearly.

VI. Cultivate a Healthy Image and Promote Green Transportation

Promote low-carbon, eco-friendly travel and encourage the use of public transportation.

Consciously safeguard the image of the scenic area and refrain from any conduct that may harm the image of the nation, the region, or oneself.

When encountering issues related to tourism services, voice your concerns rationally through legal channels and avenues.

Civilized tourism starts with each of us—starting now, starting with the smallest of actions. Let us join hands and strive to be practitioners, advocates, and watchdogs of civilized tourism, working together to create a beautiful, clean, safe, and well-organized tourist environment at Lushan West Sea, so that we may leave behind cherished memories and take home the spirit of civility.
